German chanceller Angela Merkel has announced that the 2015 summit will take place in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, an hour south of the Bavarian capital of Munich. The leaders will meet in the mountain resort of Schloss Elmau, originally built in 1916 as an artistic community and used as a U.S. army hospital during World War II and then a refuge for displaced people and Holocaust survivors in the immediate post-war years. The dates for the summit have not yet been announced.
