Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe announced on May 19, 2007, that the 2008 G8 Summit will be held on July 7-9, 2008, at Lake Toya in Hokkaido.
Locations have been announced for several ministerial meetings:
There will also be a G20 conference on global warming and clean energy in Chiba, a suburb of Tokyo, and a meeting on African development in Yokohama.
