Declaration on Lebanon and the Middle East Peace Process
Moscow, April 19, 1996
We are seriously concerned by developments in the Middle East. We call for an immediate cease-fire. Only a political solution can provide a lasting settlement of the present crisis and enable the resumption of the peace process. We give our full support to the efforts undertaken to that end. The populations of Lebanon and Israel must be able to live in peace and security. No one must put obstacles in the way, nor hinder the move to peace in the whole region.
