The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met in camera at 9:15 o'clock a.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chairman, Bill Graham, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Reg Alcock, Stéphane Bergeron, John English, Jesse Flis, Bill Graham, Keith Martin, Philippe Paré, Charlie Penson, Geoff Regan and Joseph Volpe.
Acting Member present: Raymond Bonin for Walt Lastewka. In attendance: From the Research Branch, Library of Parliament: Gerald Schmitz, Researcher.
In accordance with its mandate under Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its examination of the Agenda for the G-7 Summit in Halifax and in particular, reform of the international financial institutions. (See Minutes of Proceedings and Evidence dated Tuesday, February 21, Issue No. 16.)
The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.
At 10:27 o'clock a.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 11:11 o'clock a.m., the sitting resumed.
The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.
On motion of Reg Alcock, it was agreed, - That the draft report, as amended, be adopted as the Fourth Report of the Committee and that the Chair present it to the House on May 17, 1995.
By unanimous consent, it was agreed, - That the Committee print, in a bilingual tumbled format, 5,000 copies of its report.
By unanimous consent, it was agreed, - That pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to this report.
By unanimous consent, it was agreed, - That the Chair be authorized to make such typographical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the draft report to the House.
At 12:31 o'clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
