The G8 resolutely reaffirmed their commitment to the full implementation of the Peace Agreement and demanded a further intensification of the Parties efforts to meet their Dayton obligations. The G8 also recognized the need to caution the Parties of potential sanctions if they refuse to meet their responsibilities under the Peace Agreement. To this end, the G8 has stated that financial and material assistance will be conditional, as the G8 expressed concern in the areas of economic reconstruction, the return of refugees and displaced persons, the International War Crimes Tribunal, the development of democratic institutions, and compliance with international human rights standards.
