The Gender Equality Advisory Council was convened during Canada's G7 presidency in 2018 to support the G7 in integrating gender equality throughout its agenda. It has been convened by every G7 presidency since then, with the exception of 2020.
Mandated to "[advise] the G7 Presidency and [recommend] concrete actions for the G7 to advance gender equality and women's empowerment across all areas of the G7's work. The Council's recommendations will be reviewed by the G7 Presidency and G7 consensus will be sought to implement the recommendations and proposed actions" (Source: Canada's 2018 G7 Presidency)
